It is my opinion most of the injustices, challenges, and failures (whether health, clean water or housing) were and are caused by the Canadian Government. I recently enrolled in Indigenous studies through the University of Alberta. The goal of this course is to learn about the histories, cultures, and contemporary issues of Indigenous peoples. I am interested in social justice; these courses can help deepen my understanding of the ongoing struggles for Indigenous rights and could potentially help provide a framework for advocating for Indigenous peoples’ rights and contribute to the world.
